Some Questions
You will receive an automated email from our website with a summary of your booking and your order number. This does not mean that your booking has been confirmed. Within 48 hours you will receive another automatic email with the new status of your reservation “confirmed” or “cancelled”.
If payment for the booking is made via bank transfer, it will only be confirmed when payment is received by the bank or upon presentation of proof of payment. (please send us via email with your reservation number).
If you do not receive this email, please contact us through our email bookings@rentmemadeira.com – also check your spam box.
A valid driver’s license and passport/ID are required.
We are not allowed to rent a car if you don’t have your driver’s license with you, unless you have an official document from the authorities as a replacement.
No, you don’t need a credit card to book, payment can be made in full when you receive the car, in cash or by card (debit or credit) or by bank transfer. If you choose to pay in cash, make sure you have cash with you when picking up the vehicle.
Full insurance (SCDW) is included in our prices, excluding negligence.
Negligence situations are not included, such as:
- Careless driving (off roads, prohibited areas, wrong side of the road, etc.)
- Careless parking (not using the handbrake, ignoring the car’s sensors and camera, etc.)
- Fuel mistake
- Damage the car’s interior
- Parking tickets and speeding
- Failure to report accidents and/or damages
- Other negligence situations.
In the event of damage to the car, you are expected to contact us immediately with photographs of the car and details of where and how it happened.
If you are involved in an accident with other cars, you should immediately contact the police and the rent a car. Do not sign any documents without our consent. Please take note of the registration number of all cars involved, insurance policy number, name and contact details of the drivers.
We charge the following location fees:
Madeira Airport – 25€
My Address – Zone A – Free
Applies only to the following cities Funchal, Caniço, Machico, Santa Cruz and Câmara de Lobos.
My Address – Zone B – 35€
Applies to all cities not included in Zone A.
We consider that each suitcase has dimensions of approximately
90 x 75 x 43 cm.
